‘Saala Khadoos’ Relies on Word of Mouth
Promising actor R. Madhavan’s latest offering with debutante Ritika Singh, Saala Khadoos has completed its opening weekend with decent performance at box office. The film has received positive reviews from viewers as well as critics but due to limited number of screens, it business stands at average. This sports drama film has been released this Friday on two languages- Hindi and Tamil; titled as ‘Irudhi Suttru’. It had good pre-release buzz among audience from a long time and after release everyone find it as per their expectations.
Entire star cast has performed very well in the film, especially the lead actors R. Madhavan and Ritika. Both have performed their characters brilliantly. Madhavan is a renowned actor but the debutante Ritika has amazed everyone with her impactful performance. She has completely justified with her character of rough ‘n’ tough fisher girl. The association of the ace film maker Rajkumar Hirani with Saala Khadoos, is also the reason behind such good buzz about the film among audience.
On its very first day, it was recorded the overall occupancy of 30% across the country and minted the amount of 2.19 crores (Hindi- 1.28cr | Tamil- 0.91cr) from Indian screens. On the next day, being Saturday it witnessed slight rise in the response and raked the business of 3.54 crores (Hindi- 2.09cr | Tamil- 1.45cr). On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, being public holiday Saala Khadoos received higher response than previous days and done the business of 4.20 crores (Hindi- 2.42cr | Tamil- 1.78cr). Till the end of weekend, total collection of the film is recorded as 9.93 crores including it Hindi and Tamil versions.
