Satyameva Jayate 2nd Day Collection, John Abraham starrer Drops Abruptly after an Amazing Start

Despite having the highly-anticipated Hindi film Gold in the opposite, John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate registered an amazing start on Wednesday due to a national holiday on accounts of Independence Day. But unfortunately, like the adjacent one, it also witnessed an abrupt drop in footfalls on Thursday.

Directed by Milan Milap Zaveri, Satyameva Jayate is a vigilante action thriller starring Manoj Bajpayee and debutante Aisha Sharma in lead roles along with John. The film has received mixed reviews from the critics but got succeed to get a thumbs up from the audience and gained good word of mouth.

Three & a half months after Parmanu, John Abraham is back with his new offering which is also about the nation. On the first day, SMJ took a superb opening with 40-45% of occupancy for the morning shows despite Gold. Over the evening & nights shows, it showed a healthy jump and registered the 5th highest opening of the year so far in Hindi cinema with 20.52 crores.

With this, Satyameva Jayate has become the biggest opener of John’s career and also the 29th best of all time. On the next day i.e. Thursday, it recorded a drop of 61.40% and minted the amount of 7.92 crores. After 2 days, the total collection of the film has become 28.44 crores nett from 2500 screens at the domestic box office.

T-Series’ presentation has a 5-days extended weekend to set a strong base, let see how it will get back to the track. Although, due to the unfortunate demise of our former prime minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, most of the Indian states have declared a holiday of schools, colleges & government offices on Friday as a mark of respect.
