Last week released Hindi horror comedy Stree is still scoring good in the second week despite having several new offerings in parallel. After an excellent opening, it has registered a solid second weekend and become a super-hit. Now as per the current trend, it is likely to join the 100-crore club by its third weekend.
Starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi & Aparshakti Khurrana, Stree stands high on content and performance by the entire cast. From the critics as well as the audience, it received mostly positive reviews and gained a strong word of mouth.
After a superb start, Dinesh Vijan’s (Maddock Films) production remained strong throughout and raked the business of 60.39 crores in the first week, with 32.27 crores on the weekend and 28.12 crores on weekdays from 1950 screens across the country.
Then in the second weekend as well, Stree showed a very good performance and did the business of 21.90 crores that included 4.39 crores on 2nd Friday, 7.63 crores on 2nd Saturday & 9.88 crores on 2nd Sunday from 1770 Screens.
Now AA Films’ presentation is running on weekdays once again but still has a good pace despite a usual drop in footfalls. On 2nd Monday, it managed to collect the amount of 3.31 crores after a drop of 24.60% than 2nd Friday.
On the next day i.e. 2nd Tuesday, Stree remained almost similar and minted the amount of 3.22 crores. With this, the total collection of the movie after 12 days has become 88.82 crores nett. Now it is quite close to John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate at the domestic box office.
