9 Days Total Collection of Sultan, Completes 1 Week
Superstar Salman Khan’s recent offering Sultan completes its 9-days opening week. With enormous hype and buzz among audience, the movie has been released on July 6, two days before the normal release. As expected it has reported phenomenal response from audience across the globe through out and still has impressive hold on box office. Also the movie has received very positive reviews from most of critics as well as moviegoers.
In its 5-days opening weekend, Sultan witnessed tremendous occupancy and did the total business of 180.36 crores across the country. The weekend total is higher than lifetime business of many previous biggies and includes 36.54 crores of Wednesday, 37.32 crores of Thursday, 31.67 crores of Friday, 36.62 crores of Saturday and 38.21 crores of Sunday.
Due to strong word of mouth, it maintained an impressive pace in weekdays too. On Monday with almost 50% of drop than Friday, Sultan raked the business of 15.54 crores. With more drop it added the amount of 12.92 crores on Tuesday and 10.82 crores on Wednesday. On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, the movie witnessed slight fall than previous day and estimated to mint the amount of 9.52 crores on domestic box office.
After the first week, total domestic collection of Sultan will become 229.16 crores. With this, it has surpassed the lifetime total of Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express, that was 227.13 crores and emerged as the 6th highest grossing movie of all time in Bollywood. It has also registered the highest opening week collection record of Indian cinema.
From overseas market, the movie has already reported the nett. business of 117.15 crores so far and grossed over 400 crores worldwide including distribution shares.
