Vijay’s Theri Completes a Week on a Good Note

Last Thursday released superstar Vijay starrer Tamil action movie ‘Theri’ has completed its one week journey at box office on a good note. It had huge pre-release hype among audience and taken excellent start across Tamil Nadu on 425 screens. Despite mixed reviews by critics, Theri reported amazing response through out its opening week in India as well as in overseas. Audience found it very entertaining and showed big thumbs up to it, which made it biggest opener of Vijay’s career so far. Earlier it was Kaththi with total business of 12.50 cr from Tamil state.

Theri has been released a day before than normal releases on April 14, so its week is being completed on Wednesday. Till yet, it has showed impressive performance despite mixed reviews. Not only in Tamil Nadu or India but in overseas too, it has reported tremendous performance. As per report, it has dominated the business record of Shahrukh Khan starrer biggie Fan in Australia.

In the opening weekend, Atlee’s directorial witnessed terrific response and minted the amount of total 38.60 cr, that includes 13.10 cr of Thursday, 7 cr of Friday, 9.50 cr of Saturday and 9 cr of Sunday. In weekdays as usual it received lower response but collected decent business of 13.05 cr, that includes 4.75 cr of Monday, 4.40 cr of Tuesday and 3.90 cr of Wednesday. After a week, total collection of Theri on Tamil Nadu box office is recorded as 51.65 cr. Being solo, it is expected to perform well in its second week too.
