Fifth Day Collection of Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam

The newly released action thriller Tamil movie of superstar Kamal Haasan is doing well at box office. Being the highly star powered, it has good hype among audience and getting overwhelmed response across the country as well as overseas. The movie has received very positive reviews from critics as well as movie buffs. Audience find it very interesting and thrilling, as a result it is performing decently at box office despite of heavy rain in come parts of the state Tamil Nadu.

On its first day Thoongavanam had recorded the overall occupancy of 70% and minted the business of around 9 crores at Tamil Nadu box office. After taking such wonderful entry at box office, it had started facing drops in the occupancy as well as business from the next day. It has minted the amount of 4 crores on Wednesday, 3.25 crores on Thursday & 3 crores on Friday. On Saturday, it faced slight drop and done the business of 2.50 crores* as its fifth day collection on 370 screens of Tamil Nadu.

One more action movie from Tamil Cinema of superstar Ajith Kumar, Vedalam has been released opposite to Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam. It has released on 520 screen in Tamil Nadu and showing phenomenal performance at box office from the very first day. Ajith is one of the most popular actor in South India and has very high fan following among audience, that is why his latest movie has good hype at box office.

Vedalam had recorded the occupancy of 80-85% on its first day and did the highest business of 15.50 crores in the history of Kollywood. With this figure, it has dominated the highest opening record of superstar Rajini’s Lingaa. From the next day, the movie had started facing drop in occupancy as well as business. It has collected the amount of 10 crores on Wednesday, 8.5 crores on Thursday & 6.5 crores on Friday. On Saturday, it has recorded slight dip in its business and minted the amount of 5.90 crores* as its fifth day collection.
