Thor Ragnarok, Ittefaq & Ribbon 1st Day Collection, American Superhero Film Takes Good Lead

The highly awaited American superhero film Thor Ragnarok has been released in India this Friday and as expected opened to a good note. Despite having two notable Hindi films Ittefaq and Ribbon in opposite, it reported far better performance at Indian box office.

Hollywood is gaining huge popularity in India and that is the reason third installment of Thor franchise was buzzing among Indian audience since announcement. Marvel Studios’ this sci-fi fantasy is getting positive reviews from critics as well as audience and as a result gained good word of mouth.

On the opening day, Thor Ragnarok started it’s journey with around 25-30% of occupancy in morning and recorded decent growth over the evening & night shows. With maximum contribution from multiplexes, Chris Hemsworth starrer raked the business of 7.77 crores nett. across India.

On the other hand, fifth collaboration of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Ittefaq is being liked by most of the audience but getting mixed reviews from critics which can spoil the game.

On the opening day, Abhay Chopra’s directorial this suspense thriller opening to slow note and witnessed around 15% of occupancy. With decent growth over the evening and night shows, it minted 4.05 crores at domestic box office.

While Kalki Koechlin and Sumeet Vyas starrer drama film Ribbon is also getting mixed reviews from critics, which has made conditions more difficult for it in this clutter. On Friday, Rakhee Sandilya’s directorial recorded 5-10% of occupancy and raked the opening business of 0.25 crore.
