‘Puli’ First Weekend Total Collection

The latest action adventure movie Puli from Tamil Cinema is collecting decent figures at box office. The movie has not come up as per earlier expectations and receiving mixed reviews from critics as well as moviegoers. Still it is getting complete support of fans and as a result has managed to collect decent weekend total on Tamil Nadu screens. The mixed reviews of critics have melted down the craze of audience and now the movie’s business graph is falling down.

Puli is directed by Chimbu Deven and featuring ensemble cast that includes Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Sridevi, Shruthi Haasan, Sudeep & Hansika Motwani in lead roles. Earlier the movie was supposed to perform like Baahubali but it is not getting even near to that. The movie has made with very high production of 118 crores and integrated with super quality VFX. This was the reason behind huge pre-release hype of the movie among audience.

With the support of fans & high scale promotion, Puli started with an excellent occupancy of 80% on 400+ screens in Tamil Nadu. It was recorded the collection of 10.75 crores and dominated the opening record of Vikram’s & Ajith Kumar’s Yennai Arindhaal. On the second day being a holiday of Gandhi Jayanti, it was expected to take a rise in its business but it witnessed drop and collected the amount 7.50 crores.

By its second day, total collection of Puli was recorded as 4 crores from Karnataka & 3.2 crores from Kerala. The movie was recorded quite well performance in Chennai with occupancy rate of 70%.

On the third day, Puli showed considerable drop in its occupancy as well as business and minted the amount of 6.25 crores on Tamil Nadu screens. Till the end of the day, total three days collection the movie was calculated as 24.50 crores. Then on the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, even after being a holiday Puli has not witnessed any considerable growth and done the business of 6 crores*.
