Biggest blockbuster of superstar Aamir Khan, Dangal is holding the top position among highest grossing Indian movies globally. With it’s earth shattering performance in China, this sports biopic has dominated the India’s biggest blockbuster Baahubali 2. Although SS Rajamouli’s directorial is yet to release in China and near by countries to take it’s top position back.
Based on the real life of Indian wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, Dangal stars Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles. All the actors have received huge appreciations from audience for their brilliant performances.
Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial was initially released on 23 December 2016 in India as well as major international regions, and impressed everyone with it’s strong content. In it’s lifetime, Dangal did the business of 387.38 crores nett i.e. 511 crores gross at Indian box office and 205 crores gross from overseas.
Then on 24 March 2017, Aamir Khan starrer got released in Taiwan and grossed 36.12 crores total from there. On 5 May 2017, Dangal released in China on 9000 screens and recorded phenomenal response from audience there. At China box office, it grossed the business of 1227 crores in lifetime.
With this, Dangal has grossed total 1979.12 crores at worldwide box office. But it’s not final, because now the movie is set to released in Hong Kong on 31 August 2017 and positively expected to receive good response from there too.
