Zee TV Acquires Satellite Rights of 2.0 at Record Price of 110 Cr
Touted to be the most expensive film of India & second biggest film of Asia, S. Shankar’s directorial sci-fi 2.0 #2point0 sets record before the release. Reportedly, the makers of the film Lyca Productions have locked a deal for it’s satellite rights for all three Tamil, Telugu & Hindi versions with Zee TV networks at a record price of 110 crores.
If this news is to be believed, then it is the highest price ever paid for the satellite rights of any Indian film. Although creative head of Lyca Productions Raju Mahalingam has confirmed the news of their partnership with Zee TV networks for 2.0, but he did not disclose further details regarding the deal. “It’s TRUE Lyca Productions’s gets a partner in Zee for our Mega Opus 2.0 Satellite!!!,” he tweeted.
Being made with the enormous budget of 400 crores, 2.0 is to be heavy on special effects. Shooting of the film is almost completed now, only a song is left to be shot. It is slated to be released on Diwali in 3D worldwide. This is the for the first time in India, when any film has shot with 3D cameras, otherwise usually films are shot with 2D cameras and get converted into 3D in studios.
2.0 is the sequel of 2010’s blockbuster Enthiran aka Robot. The upcoming is strongly buzzing among fans as well as audience from the time when it was announced. Along with superstar Rajinikanth, this film marks the debut of superstar Akshay Kumar in Tamil Cinema, who is playing as an main antagonist. It also features Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in crucial roles.
