Karan Malhotra directorial action drama movie Brothers has completed its one week journey with total business of more than 70 crores at domestic box office. It has received overwhelmed response in India as well as in overseas, the movie has done the business of approx 23 crores from its overseas screens. Till now it has registered many records to its name. Brothers has become the second highest ‘opener, opening weekend grosser & opening week grosser‘ movie of the year 2015 so far after Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It has showed the best performance among all movies of Akshay Kumar.
Almost everyone loved the movie, especially the performance of Akshay & Jackie Shroff. They both have acted outstanding and completely justified with their characters. The second lead Sidharth Malhotra has also played his role very well and is being appreciated by all for that. Jacqueline and Shefali Shah both have small role but they played it well.
In its first weekend it was showed excellent performance even after getting low star ratings from some critics. The touchy story, soulful music and the belief of audience on Akshay Kumar are the reasons behind such wonderful response towards the movie. It was done the business of 52.08 crores in its first weekend from Indian screens only, that was included 15.20 crores of Friday, 21.43 crores of Saturday and 15.45 crores of Sunday. In overseas it was minted the amount of 15.77 crores as weekend total. Akshay is having huge fan following in UAE and the movie has received very good response there through out the week.
From Monday, Brothers was entered in weekdays and started facing drop in its business. It was collected the amount of 6.23 crores on its 4th day with a drop of almost 60% than Sunday. On Tuesday it was done the business of 5.11 crores & 4.88 crores on Wednesday. On the last day of its first week and it has recorded slightly lower occupancy than Wednesday and minted near about 4.30 crores. Till the end of week, the total collection of Brothers has become 72.60 crores at Indian box office.
