Karan Johar’s latest venture Shaandaar starring Shahid Kapoor & Alia Bhatt, has taken an excellent start at box office. The movie has been released this week on Thursday & being a holiday on accounts of Dussehra started amazingly well. Considering the fan following of Shahid & Alia, it was expected to gross near about 10 crores, but the public holiday has changed the scenario & helped it to collect more.

This is the first time, when Shahid & Alia have shared screen with each other. Shahid’s sister Sanah Kapoor & father Pankaj Kapoor are also playing important roles in the movie. Shaandaar has received positive reviews from most of the critics. Audience liked the movie & showing thumbs up for it, which created good buzz about it on social media.

On the opening day, Shaandaar has recorded the overall occupancy of 40% occupancy across the country & minted the amount of 13.10 crores. With this figure, it has surpassed the opening record of Gabbar Is Back, that was 13.05 crores. The movie has registered the highest opening for Shahid as well as Alia’s career. Good word of mouth are expected to be resulted in excellent weekend total.

On its second day too, the movie has started with almost similar occupancy as yesterday. Shaandaar has four days weekend with holidays, this will definitely come out as commercial success.
