‘Wazir’ Gets Mixed Reviews
The first big release of the year 2016, an emotional drama film Wazir directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra under his home production company Vinod Chopra Films. It features the megastar Amitabh Bachchan in lead role with Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari and Neil Nitin Mukesh in pivotal roles. On this Friday i.e. 8th of January, Wazir has released with a good screen count and bit excitement of audience, as everyone was missing new options to watch after Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani.
Because of dark story and low promotion, Wazir has taken a slow start on box office in India. The film is getting mixed reviews from critics as well as audience. The presence of Big B and Farhan Akhtar is only the reason which attracts audience towards theaters; both the stars are being appreciated for their performances too. The last month released Bajirao Mastani is still has much hold over audience, so Wazir can only rely on word of mouth otherwise there is no scope.
On its very first day, Wazir has witnessed the below average occupancy of 30% in India. It has raked the business of 5.57 crores as its opening day collection. The film is expected to continue with the same pace till the weekend, afterwards everything will depend on public response.
