Much Awaited Hindi Movies of 2016; Airlift, Sultan, Raees, Fan, Dangal etc.

Salman, Shahrukh, Aamir & Akshay are Ready to Rock 2016

Last year we have experienced as very entertaining and this year too, many biggies are scheduled to be released. Bollywood lovers are very eager to know about the upcoming movies of their favorite stars. In 2015, superstars Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have acquired the top positions among highest earner actors of the year, but this year the list would be long. Because all three Khans and Kumar are ready to rock box office in 2016 with their very much awaited movies.

Aamir Khan who has been missed in 2015, is working hard to win hearts of audience with ‘Dangal’, which is slated to be released on Christmas. Shahrukh Khan who has given only one movie last year Dilwale, will be seen in two movies ‘Fan’ & ‘Raees’ this year. 2015’s highest grossing actor Salman Khan has only one movie ‘Sultan’ in the list, obviously which is enough to break records. The most busiest actor of the industry Akshay Kumar, this year too has four movies in hands- ‘Airlift’, ‘Housefull 3’, ‘Rustom’ & one more of Vipul Shah.

Apart from these, there are many much hyped movies which are being released this year.

Airlift (22nd January 2016)– The very much awaited movie of the year, directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced under the banners T-Series, Emmay Entertainment, Cape of Good Films and Abundantia Entertainment. Airlift features superstar Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles, its story is based on a true event of 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait.

Saala Khadoos (29th January 2016)– An upcoming bilingual sports drama movie, directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by S. Sashikanth, C.V. Kumar, R. Madhavan & Rajkumar Hirani under the banners Y NOT Studios, UTV Motion Pictures & Thirukumaran Entertainment. It features R. Madhavan in lead role, along with newcomer Ritika Singh in crucial supporting character.

Ghayal Once Again (5th February 2016)– The sequel of 1990’s superhit movie Ghayal, directed by Sunny Deol and produced under the banner Vijayta Films. Ghayal Once Again features Sunny Doel in lead role, along with Soha Ali Khan, Om Puri & Tisca Chopra in pivotal roles.

Fitoor (12th February 2016)– An upcoming romantic drama movie, directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapoor and Abhishek himself under the banners UTV Motion Pictures and Gun In The Sky Pictures. It features very popular Indian diva Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor in lead roles, along with  Tabu, Lara Dutta etc in supporting characters.

Neerja (19th February 2016)– An Upcoming biopic movie, directed by Ram Madhvani and produced by Atul Kasbekar under the banner Fox Star Studios. It features Sonam Kapoor in lead role, along with Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Ravjiani in supporting characters. Neerja is based on the real life of Neerja Bhanot, who was shot dead by terrorists while Mumbai-New York flight hijack in Karachi on 5th September 1986.

Rocky Handsome (25th March 2016)– An upcoming action thriller movie, directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Sunir Khetrapal & John Abraham under the banner John Abraham Entertainment and Azure Entertainment. It features John Abraham and Shruti Haasan in lead roles, along with Nathalia Kaur in supporting role.

Ki and Ka (1st April 2016)– First time Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor are sharing screens together in this romantic comedy drama movie, directed and produced by R. Balki under the banner Eros International. Ki And Ka is based on the story of young married couple, whose relationship challenges the gender roles placed upon women and men in Indian society.

Fan (15th April 2016)– One of the most awaited movies of the year Fan, directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner Yash Raj Films. It features the superstar Shahrukh Khan in lead dual roles with Ileana D’cruz, Waluscha De Souza, Ali Fazal etc.n supporting roles.

Baaghi (29th April 2016)– One of the most popular young actresses Shraddha Kapoor is first time sharing screen with Tony Jaa of India, Tiger Shroff. Baaghi is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced under the banners Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures. This is an exceptional love story set against an urban background.

Azhar (13th May 2016)– Another biopic movie of the year, based on the life of former cricketer Mohd. Azharuddin. Azhar is directed by Tony D’souza and jointly produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, N.P. Singh and Sneha Rajani under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and MSM Motion Pictures. It features Emraan Hashmi in the title role, with Prachi Desai as his wife.

Housefull 3 (3rd June 2016)– Third installment of successful comedy Hindi series Housefull, starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Hayden in lead roles. Housefull 3 is directed by Sajid-Farhad and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Raees (3rd July 2016)– One of the most awaited movies of the year, starring the superstar Shahrukh Khan in lead role, along with Farhan Akhtar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in pivotal roles. Raees is directed by Rahul Dholakia and jointly produced by Farhan Akhtar, Gauri Khan and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banners Excel Entertainment & Red Chillies Entertainment.

Sultan (17th July 2016)– Another sports drama of the year and ofcourse most awaited one. Sultan is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner Yash Raj Films. It features superstar Salman Khan in lead role, with Anushka Sharma opposite to him. This is the second venture of YRF of year 2016 and has huge hype among audience.

Mohenjo Daro (12th August 2016)– After receiving huge appreciation from critics as well as audience for his splendid performance in historical love story Jodha Akhbar, once again Hrithik Roshan will be seen in another historical movie Mohenjo Daro. Actress-Model Pooja Hegde is playing female lead in the movie, which is directed and produced by Ashutosh Gowariker under the banners Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and Disney India.

Rustom (12th August 2016)– After giving two back to back hits with director Neeraj Pandey, superstar Akshay Kumar is again collaborated with him for mystical plus romantic movie Rustom. As per sources the movie is based on the 1959’s Naval Commander Nanavati case who murdered the lover of his wife. Rumors says Esha Gupta is playing as female lead in the movie.

Dhoni: The Untold Story (2nd September 2016)– Another biopic movie of the year, based on the real life of Indian cricket team’s captain cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The movie is directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Paras Jain & Vineet Jain under the banners Fox Star Studios and Inspired Entertainment. It features Sushant Singh Rajput in the role of Mahi and Kiara Advani as his wife Sakshi.

Baar Baar Dekho (9th September 2016)– An upcoming romantic drama movie, directed by Nitya Mehra and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Karan Johar and Farhan Akhtar under the banners Excel Entertainment, Dharma Prductions and Junglee Pictures. It features Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra in lead roles, along with Ram Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Annu Kapoor etc. in supporting roles.

Half Girlfriend (7th October 2016)– An upcoming quirky love story directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Ekta Kapoor, Chetan Bhagat and Mohit himself under the banner Balaji Motion Pictures. It features Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles.

Rangoon (14th October 2016)– An upcoming trianguler love story against the backdrop of World War II. Rangoon is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj himself under the banners Vishal Bhardwaj Pictures, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Viacom 10 Motion Picture. It features Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles.

Shivaay (Diwali 2016)– The upcoming Hindi action movie of Ajay Devgn & Sayesha directed by Ajay himself who is also the co-producer of the movie along with Sunil Lulla. Shivaay is being presented by Ajay Devgn Films & Eros International.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (Diwali 2016)– Karan Johar’s next directorial movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. The movie is being presented by Fox Star Studios and Dharma Productions. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a remake of 1977’s Rishi Kapoor starrer Dusra Aadmi.

Rock On 2 (11th November 2016)– The sequel of 2008’s very successful musical drama movie Rock On!!, directed by Shujaat Saudagar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under the banner Excel Entertainment. It features Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Shraddha Kapoor & Purab Kohli in lead roles.

Dangal (23rd December 2016)– An upcoming sports drama movie, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Siddharth Roy Kapoor under the banners Aamir Khan Productions and Disney India. It features the superstar Aamir Khan in lead role, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Rajkummar Rao pivotal roles.
