The film has released with good initial buzz and received very positive reviews from critics as well as cine goers. The first day positive reactions have generated strong word of mouth about the film among audience and as result it has started its second day on a better note than the first one. Due to India-Pakistan T20 Cricket match, Kapoor & Sons has witnessed an abrupt fall in its occupancy for post-evening shows, which is usual.

On the second day, because of positive buzz it has started the day on a better note but witnessed lesser occupancy for late shows due to India vs Pakistan cricket match. Still the film has reported the business of 7.75 crores on Saturday and made its 2 days total as 14.60 crores at domestic box office.
