3rd Day Collection: Sarbjit Earns 14 Cr as Domestic Total in 1st Weekend

‘Sarbjit’ Completes Opening Weekend on a Decent Note!

This Friday released, one of the awaited movies of the year ‘Sarbjit’ has completed the first weekend journey on a decent note. Omung Kumar’s directorial this biopic has been released with much pre-release buzz among audience and also received favorable response from most of the audience & critics. Despite all this, it has not showed much impressive performance in the opening weekend.

The major reason behind these lower results than expected, is the adjacent release much awaited Hollywood superhero movie X-Men: Apocalypse. This is not the first time in this year, when English movie has dominated Indian movie in its own country.

On its very first day, Sarbjit reported decent occupancy in morning and witnessed decent growth from evening shows. With overall 25% of occupancy, it raked the opening business of 3.69 cr which is not good of course. But due to positive word of mouth, it showed decent rise in its business graph on Saturday and minted the amount of 4.56 cr as its second day collection. After two days, total collection of Sarbjit was recorded as 8.25 cr on domestic box office.

Then on the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, as expected the movie has reported decent jump in its occupancy as well as business and added the amount of 5.71 cr to its account. After the opening weekend, total collection of this Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Randeep Hooda and Richa Chadha starrer Sarbjit is recorded as 13.96 cr on Indian screens. Now it is being entered in weekdays and expected to head with low but steady pace till this week.
