This Week Too, Hollywood Movies Reported Higher Response Than Bollywood Movies!
Once again on Indian box office, the Bollywood movies have dominated by Hollywood movies. This kind of condition we have noticed number of times in this year and this is a spoiler for Indian cinema. What makes Indian audience to choose English movies over Hindi ones. Despite positive reviews by critics, this Friday released megastar Amitabh Bachchan starrer suspense thriller TE3N has not reported much impressive business.
It has received an average response on Friday and minted the amount of 2.61 crores across the country with 1169 screens. On Saturday, being weekend it witnessed decent growth and raked the business of 3.97 crores. On the last day of weekend i.e. Sunday, TE3N received higher response than last two days and added the amount of around 4.55 crores to its account.
With the end of its opening weekend, its total collection is recorded as 11.13 crores on domestic box office, whereas from overseas market it made total business of 4.69 crores that includes 1.90 crore of Friday, 1.27 crore of Saturday and 1.52 crore of Sunday with 373 screens.
In parallel, Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal starrer love story Do Lafzon Ki Kahani has received an average response through out in its first weekend with mixed reviews by critics. It has done the business of total 3.74 crores, that includes 1.03 crore of Friday, 1.26 crore of Saturday and 1.45 crore of Sunday with 612 screens across India.
Whereas, the second installment of Hollywood’s most popular Horror franchise The Conjuring has reported highest response than any other new release of this week on Indian box office. The Conjuring 2 witnessed amazing response through out its opening weekend and minted the amount of 19.75 crores, which consists 5.25 crores of Friday, 6.90 crores of Saturday and 7.60 crores of Sunday with 900 screens (English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu).
The another Hollywood release, action fantasy Warcraft: The Beginning has performed on a decent note in India due to less promotions, but reported phenomenal business in other countries. In the weekend, it added the total amount of 3.60 crores* that includes 0.90 crore* of Friday, 1.20 crore* of Saturday and 1.50 crore* of Sunday on limited Indian screens.
