4 Days Total Collection of Banjo & Parched
Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri starrer this Friday released musical drama Banjo has failed to entertain audience. Being well promoted, it has been released with decent hype but received disappointing response on box office due to mixed reviews of critics as well as moviegoers.
Riteish is very versatile actor and has good fan following across the country. Mostly he does multi-starrer movies, his last solo offering was 2014’s Marathi movie Lai Bhaari and that was a blockbuster. This is why, Banjo was expected to perform atleast decently on box office but nothing has come out in its favor.
With almost dull flat note, Banjo reported the business of 5.92 crores in the opening weekend, that includes 1.72 crore of Friday, 1.95 crore of Saturday and 2.25 crores of Sunday. Whereas the last week released social thriller Pink registered an excellent business of 15.21 crores in its second weekend opposite to this Ravi Jadhav’s directorial.
Now Banjo has entered in weekdays and asusual started getting lesser occupancy than weekend. On Monday, it recorded almost 45% of drop than Friday and added the amount of 0.95 crore* to its account. With this 4 days total collection of the movie has become 6.87 crores* on domestic box office.
On the other hand, women-centric Leena Yadav’s directorial Parched has also received very low response than its earlier expectations. Despite being already internationally applauded and critically acclaimed this social drama recorded only 5-10% of occupancy on limited screens.
In the opening weekend, it did the business of only 0.62 crore with 0.12 crore of Friday, 0.22 crore of Saturday and 0.28 crore of Sunday. On Monday being normal working day, the movie collected the amount of only 0.05 crore*. With this its 4 days total domestic collection has become 0.67 crore*.
