Last Friday released Hollywood’s offering Beauty And The Beast has completed it’s opening week on a decent note and successfully dominated all new Hindi movies released on the same day. This is not the first time when any English movie has performed better than the Hindi ones in India. Increasing craze of Hollywood movies among Indian audience, is a warning alarm for Hindi movie makers.

Due to good scale promotions, Beauty And The Beast was released with decent buzz on Indian box office and received favorable response from audience as well as critics. After an average start, it remained steady throughout the opening week and registered a decent business total. While Machine, Trapped & Aa Gaya Hero reported very poor performance.

In the opening weekend, Emma Watson and Dan Stevens starrer this musical romantic dark fantasy did the business of 6.67 crores, which was including 1.42 crore of Friday, 2.45 crores of Saturday and 2.80 crores of Sunday from around 600 screens across India.

Then in weekdays, due to normal working days Beauty And The Beast witnessed usual drop in occupancy and managed to hold a decent pace. With 30% of drop, it added the amount of 0.98 crore on Monday, 0.97 crore on Tuesday and 0.96 crore on Wednesday. On the last day of week i.e. Thursday, the movie raked 0.90 crore and made it’s one week domestic total as 10.48 crores.
