After an average opening and ordinary weekend, Jal has now resulted in another washout of this year 2014. We can’t say its opening as completely poor considering its production cost to be very low but still ”Jal” was poor on day one as film was hit by big cricket match which took away most of the audience. In addition to this negativity, other simultaneous release Main Tera Hero thrashed the remaining audience from Jal shows in morning and evening all the days till now. It is now struggling hard to survive longer till the second weekend to increase its box office business. Film was expected to grow on 2nd day but despite a modest growth on day two, film looks to fail miserably at box office. Now film needs to score big on its weekdays from tomorrow onwards in order to reach respectable numbers and that looks impossible.

First Wednesday Total Business of Jal

Being released with a much publicized, audience favorable, popular and well directed biggie Main Tera Hero, we can say that Jal was sort of released only for the niche audience. Even Jal saw tough competition from the Hollywood release Captain America which was very good in metros but then as expected, match killed it badly from evening onwards. Seeing all these situations against Jal, 6th Day Box Office Collection of Jal is around 0.20 Crore. Although it has got a very nice script and powerful performances still Jal was limited release and moreover due to no face value and uninteresting promos for youth audience, film was poor all over. Film managed close to on an average on day one which means now film needs remarkable jumps in order to touch any decent score. It seems to be joining the other flops at box office and a consequent disaster in the list of the Bollywood washouts of this year.
