The highly anticipated American movie Transformers The Last Knight has unfortunately got failed to impress critics as well as audience in overseas, and also getting mixed reviews from Indian critics. But still it is diverting major segment of audience in metro cities of India, despite having Salman Khan’s last week released Tubelight in opposite.
As per critics, the fifth installment from the franchise Transformers has a weak storyline but still with it’s superlative VFX and actions, it entertains viewers to some extent. Due to unavailability of any strong contender opposite to it, as Tubelight has been denied by audience, there is a good scope for this sci-fi.
Director Michael Bay’s recent offering was strongly buzzing worldwide from a long time, but the negative reactions of overseas audience caused much harm to it’s hype. On Thursday, Transformers The Last Knight recorded decent occupancy in theaters for the paid previews across India and did the business of 1.75 crore.
On first day, the movie opened on a better note than Tubelight but remained almost flat till the end and fetched the business of 3.50 crores on Friday. Including the business of previews, it’s opening day collection can be considered as 5.25 crores, which is decent. Transformers 5 is expected to show decent growth over the weekend.
The increasing craze of Indian audience towards Hollywood movies, is not a good sign for Indian Cinema specially Bollywood. After the mammoth Baahubali 2, most of the anticipated movies from the industry have got failed at box office. Infact superstar Salman Khan starrer Tubelight is struggling to attract audience.
