The new offering of this week from Hollywood, Transformers The Last Knight had huge buzz earlier but after the negative reviews of audience from overseas, caused much loss to it’s hype in India too. Even though this awaited fifth installment of the very popular American sci-fi franchise Transformers opened on a decent at Indian box office.
Despite having great brand value, it got failed to impress audience and received unfavorable reviews from critics. As per them, Transformers The Last Knight has lots of action which entertains to some extent, but the weak story line has ruined it badly.
Michael Bay’s directorial had paid previews on Thursday and collected 1.75 crore from them. On the opening day, it took decent start and fetched the business of 3.50 crores which is comparatively better than the last week released Salman Khan starrer biggie Tubelight.
On the next day i.e. Saturday being weekend and due to unavailability of any strong contender opposite to it, as Tubelight has been denied by audience, the movie showed decent growth and raked the business of 4.25 crores.
On Sunday, Transformers The Last Knight witnessed more growth due to public holiday and garnered the business of 4.50 crores. With this, total collection of the movie has become 14 crores nett. at Indian box office including English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.
In metro cities, Transformers The Last Knight is giving strong competition to Tubelight and expected to stay almost steady in weekdays too.
