Despite having several Hindi offerings in opposite, Punjabi film Vekh Baraatan Challiyan has got excellent response at box office over the opening weekend in India. Binnu Dhillon and Kavita Kaushik (aka Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala of SAB TV’s serial F.I.R.) starrer this romantic comedy has impressed everyone with it’s content and remained strong throughout.
Directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary, Vekh Baraatan Challiyan was released with average buzz among audience in Punjab and other northern regions, as it doesn’t have any star face. But the film is loaded with humor and comedy, that is why it got super positive reviews from everyone.
On the opening day, Vekh Baraatan Challiyan started the journey on a decent note, but after getting the positive reactions from viewers it picked up well and did the amazing business of 1.20 crore from limited screens across the country.
On Saturday due to positive word of mouth, the film reported fair growth and minted the amount of 1.50 crore. Then on Sunday with further growth, Vekh Baraatan Challiyan garnered the business of 1.90 crore and raised it’s opening weekend total to 4.60 crores.
While on the other hands, two adjacent Hindi films Indu Sarkar and Raag Desh remained comparatively far lower than this Punjabi one. Undoubtedly Vekh Baraatan Challiyan is emerging as the most unexpected hit of the year so far in Punjabi cinema.
Produced by Rhythm Boyz Entertainment and J Studios, Vekh Baraatan Challiyan received major response from Punjab, as in Delhi & rest of India it faced heavy competition due to Hindi film Mubarakan.
