Superstar Akshay Kumar’s latest offering Toilet Ek Prem Katha has already become one of the most favorite films of 2017 and also emerged as third highest grosser of the year so far in Hindi cinema after Baahubali 2 (Hindi) and Raees. Inspired by the campaign ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan‘, this satirical romantic drama has liked by everyone.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, TEPK is the first collaboration of Akshay with Bhumi Pednerkar and both the actors have performance brilliantly well. From most of critics the film received positive reviews and gained strong word of mouth which helped it to remain steady for long at box office.
In the opening week, Toilet Ek Prem Katha reported excellent performance throughout and did the business of 96.05 crores, that included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays from approx. 3000 screens across the country.
In the second week too, Akshay-Bhumi starrer remained good and raked the business of 28.35 crores with 19 crores in weekend and 9.35 crores of weekdays. Then in the third week, the film dropped by usual rate and minted total 7 crores including 4.50 crores of weekend and 2.50 crores of weekdays.
TEPK is now running in it’s fourth week and has biggie Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho and Bhumi’s new offering Shubh Mangal Saavdhan in opposite. In the weekend, the film bagged the amount of total 1.20 crore with 0.20 crore of Friday, 0.40 crore of Saturday and 0.60 crore of Sunday.
After 24 days of release, total collection of Toilet Ek Prem Katha was recorded as 132.60 crores. Now once again it has been entered in weekdays and started getting lower footfalls in theaters. On 4th Monday, the film garnered the business of 0.20 crore and raised it’s 25 days domestic total to 132.80 crores.
