5th Day Collection of Ittefaq & Thor Ragnarok, Both Films Heading Steadily in Weekdays

The recent collaboration of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Ittefaq is heading steadily in weekdays after an overall decent opening weekend. Directed by Abhay Chopra, this suspense thriller has impressed most of the critics as well as audience with it’s intriguing storyline.

Everyone appreciated the performances given by leading actors Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna but still the film is lagging behind adjacent Hollywood release Thor Ragnarok. Because of clash, it opened to a slow note on Friday but picked up well over the weekend due to positive word of mouth.

In the opening weekend, Ittefaq did the business of 16.05 crores, that included 4.05 crores of Friday, 5.50 crores of Saturday and 6.50 crores of Sunday. In weekdays, asusual the film witnessed abrupt drop in footfalls but still heading steadily and has enough hold over the multiplex audience.

On Monday, Ittefaq faced around 44.5% of drop than Friday and minted the amount of 2.25 crores. On the next day i.e. Tuesday with little more drop, it raked the business of 2 crores and raised it’s 5 days total collection to 20.30 crores at domestic box office.

On the other hand, American superhero film Thor Ragnarok that was released this Friday with huge buzz, has also received positive reviews from everyone and getting rocking response from Indian audience. In the opening weekend, it collected 27.66 crores with 7.77 crores on Friday, 9.43 crores on Saturday and 10.46 crores on Sunday.

In weekdays, Marvel Studios’ this presentation has witnessed usual drop but still showing good performance. On Monday, Thor Ragnarok faced 47.23% of drop than Friday and bagged the amount of 4.10 crores. On Tuesday with further dip, it garnered 3.20 crores and raised 5 days total business to 34.96 crores nett from Indian screens.
