From the very first day of release, American offering Thor Ragnarok is leading over all the Hindi films at Indian box office and all set to gross over 50 crores by the opening week. Chris Hemsworth starrer this superhero fantasy was released with good buzz and as expected got favorable response from critics as well as audience.
After a good opening, it remained strong throughout the opening weekend due to positive word of mouth and did the business of 27.66 crores that included 7.77 crores of Friday, 9.43 crores of Saturday and 10.46 crores of Sunday from decent number of screens nationwide.
Then in weekdays, asusual Thor Ragnarok witnessed some drop in footfalls but still heading steadily. On Monday, it reported 47.23% of dip than Friday and raked the business of 4.10 crores. With considerable drop further, the film minted the amount of 3.20 crores.
On the next day i.e. Wednesday, third installment of Marvel Studios’ franchise Thor faced slight fall and bagged the amount of 2.87 crores. With this, 6 days total collection of Thor Ragnarok has become 37.83 crores nett. (48.50 crores gross) at Indian box office.
On the other hand, Abhay Chopra’s directorial suspense thriller Ittefaq has also received positive reviews from critics as well as audience but still heading decently at box office due to clutter. In the opening weekend, it did the business of 16.05 crores that included 4.05 crores of Friday, 5.50 crores of Saturday and 6.50 crores of Sunday.
In weekdays, Sidharth Malhotra-Sonakshi Sinha starrer witnessed usual drop in footfalls but still heading almost steadily due to positive word of mouth. On Monday, it raked the business of 2.25 crores, while 2 crores on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, Ittefaq garnered 1.75 crore and raised it’s 6 days domestic total to 22.05 crores.
