Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles, Padmaavat doesn’t seem ready to slow down at the box office. The movie is heading unaffectedly despite having Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated Padman in its opposite. It is about to complete 3 weeks but still has a good hold over the audience.
Surrounded by controversies since it went on floors, Padmaavat has faced a lot of troubles but that also helped it to gain enormous hype among the audience. That’s the reason, this epic period drama opened so excellent despite not being released in several major states of India.
Ace storyteller Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus successfully managed to remain strong throughout a couple of weeks and registered the business of 166.50 crores in the opening week and 69.50 crores in the second from Indian screens.
Now the movie is running in its third week and once again passed the weekend on a noticeable note. Padmaavat did the business of total 17.80 crores in the third weekend, that included 3.50 crores of Friday, 6.30 crores of Saturday and 8 crores of Sunday despite having PadMan in the opposite.
In weekdays, it is facing a usual drop in footfalls but still maintaining a good pace. On 3rd Monday, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ presentation minted the amount of 3.20 crores after a slight drop of 9% than Friday.
Then on 3rd Tuesday, Padmaavat showed decent rise due to Maha Shivaratri holiday and bagged the amount of 3.75 crores. On the next day i.e. 3rd Wednesday with a further growth due to the partial holiday, it collected the business of 4.50 crores and raised 21 days total collection to 265.25 crores at the domestic box office.
