Padman 9th Day Box Office Collection, Shows Decent Growth on 2nd Saturday

The debut production of Twinkle Khanna, social comedy-drama Padman has completed the opening week on a decent note and got succeed to impress everyone. As a result despite having newly released Aiyaary and Black Panther in the opposite alongside the existing Padmaavat, R.Balki’s directorial showing overall steady performance in its second week.

Inspired by the real life of Tamil Nadu based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, Padman addresses the taboo topic of menstrual hygiene. Because of powerful content, the movie is getting a good response in multiplexes, but single screens are not contributing as per earlier expectations.

Due to the presence of biggie Padmaavat, Padman opened to a lower note than expected and registered the decent opening. Positive word of mouth kept it strong throughout the first week and made it collect 62.87 crores in total that included 40.05 crores of the weekend and 22.82 crores of weekdays from 2750 screens.

Now the movie is running in its second weekend with lesser screen count. On 2nd Friday, it witnessed a considerable drop of approx. 45.75% and minted the amount of 2.10 crores. Then on 2nd Saturday, Padman took a decent jump and bagged 3.15 crores. With this, its 9 days total collection has become 68.12 crores at the domestic box office.

By giving one of his best performances, superstar Akshay Kumar is being praised by everyone, in fact, entire Bollywood is appreciating his work and choice. Leading ladies Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor have added good power to the movie in first and second half respectively.
