The highly anticipated social drama PadMan has completed its 2 weeks journey at the box office on an overall decent note. After passing the opening week steadily, R.Balki’s directorial witnessed a considerable drop in footfalls. As a result, in the second week, it remained steady but on a low note.
Based on a relevant social issue- menstrual hygiene, superstar Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte starrer PadMan received huge appreciation from everyone across the globe. But at the box office, it is not that impressive because being a non-masala flick the movie is not getting desired response from single screens.
Having the existing biggie Padmaavat in its opposite, PadMan opened to a decent note but picked up very well over the opening weekend due to positive word of mouth. By remaining almost steady throughout the first week, it did the business of 62.87 crores that included 40.05 crores of the weekend and 22.82 crores of weekdays from 2750 screens.
In the second weekend, Twinkle Khanna’s debut production witnessed considerable drop due to new offerings and bagged the amount of 9.03 crores that included 2.10 crores of Friday, 3.15 crores of Saturday and 3.78 crores of Sunday.
Then on weekdays, with further drops, it minted the amount of 1.50 crore on 2nd Monday, 1.25 crore on 2nd Tuesday, 1 crore on 2nd Wednesday and 1 crore on 2nd Thursday. With this, 2 weeks total collection of PadMan has become 76.65 crores at the domestic box office.
