Last Friday released, family drama Hichki has completed the opening week on a solid note. With its interesting and impactful story-line, the movie has impressed everyone and gained a positive word of mouth. As a result, within a week, it has become the sixth highest grossing movie of the year so far by dominating Aiyaary and Hate Story IV.
Presented by Yash Raj Films, Hichki is an emotional and entertaining story of a teacher having Tourette syndrome. It stars Rani Mukerji in a lead role, who has performed brilliantly and is being appreciated by all the viewers.
After a decent opening, Sidharth P Malhotra’s directorial picked up very well over the weekend and did the business of 15.35 crores, that included 3.30 crores of Friday, 5.35 crores of Saturday and 6.70 crores of Sunday from the limited 961 screens across the country.
Then on weekdays as well, Hichki remained steady and bagged the amount of 2.40 crores on Monday, 2.35 crores on Tuesday and 2.60 crores on Wednesday. On a higher note due to a holiday, the movie minted the amount of 3.40 crores and raised its one week total collection to 26.10 crores.
On the other hand, Diljit Dosanjh starrer Punjabi offering Sajjan Singh Rangroot has also received a positive response from the viewers and did the business of 5.15 crores, that included 1.35 crore of Friday, 1.75 crore of Saturday and 2.05 crores of Sunday.
Then on weekdays, Pankaj Batra’s directorial managed to remain good and garnered the business of 0.90 crore on Monday, 0.80 crore on Tuesday and 0.75 crore on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. Thursday, Sajjan Singh Rangroot collected 1 crore and raised its one week domestic total to 8.60 crores.
