The third installment of the very popular Indian action thriller franchise Race has completed the opening week on an overall fantastic note amid mixed reactions of the critics as well as the audience. Now it has entered in the second week and unfortunately faced an abrupt drop on second Friday despite no competition.
Superstar Salman Khan’s latest offering Race 3 opened on a terrific note despite being released pre-Eid and registered the higher opening of the year in Hindi cinema. By remaining super-strong throughout the opening weekend, it did the business of 106.47 crores, that included 29.17 crores on Friday, 38.14 crores on Saturday, and 39.16 crores on Sunday.
Then on weekdays, it witnessed unexpected drops in footfalls and bagged the amount of 38.04 crores, that included 14.24 crores on Monday, 9.50 crores on Tuesday, 8 crores on Wednesday, and 6.30 crores on Thursday. After a week, the total collection of the film was recorded at 144.51 crores from 4000 screens across India.
Now, the multi-starrer Race 3 has stepped-in on the second weekend and has no competition at the box office. But still, it faced a drop of 40.48% on its 2nd Friday than the previous day and minted the amount of 3.75 crores. With this, its 8 days total collection has become 148.26 crores nett at the domestic box office.
Due to no major competition, Remo Dsouza’s directorial is expected to show a healthy jump over the second weekend. But unfortunately, Tips Films & Salman Khan Films’ presentation doesn’t seem to surpass the lifetime total of Baaghi 2 (165.50 crores) by this Sunday.
