This Friday released two major releases Hindi sports drama Soorma and American sci-fi Ant-Man And The Wasp have passed their opening weekend on an overall good note at the Indian box office. Obviously, both could perform better if the super solid Sanju was not there to divert enough audience.
Based on the greatest comeback story of Hockey legend Sandeep Singh, Soorma has got succeed to impress most of the viewers and received almost positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. Leading actor Diljit Dosanjh and director Shaad Ali are being praised by many for their commendable work.
On the first day, this new Hindi offering took a decent start and di the business of 3.20 crores on Friday. Due to positive word of mouth, it took a good jump on Saturday and minted the amount of 5.05 crores. On Sunday, with a further jump, Soorma collected 5.60 crores and raised its 3 days total collection to 13.85 crores from 1100 screens.
On the other hand, highly buzzed Hollywood movie Ant-Man And The Wasp has also got succeed to entertain Indian audience and remained good throughout the weekend. Being the second installment of popular American franchise Ant-Man, the movie started its journey with 5.50 crores on Friday.
On the next day i.e. Saturday, as expected it took a fair growth and bagged the amount of 7 crores. Then on Sunday, Ant-Man And The Wasp remained almost steady and minted 6.80 crores. After 3 days of release, its total collection has become 19.30 crores nett (24.74 crores gross) from 1300 screens across India.
