After dominating John Abraham’s much applauded Parmanu at the domestic box office, the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat has now crossed the mark of 100-crore globally. Despite getting mixed feedback from the viewers, Karan Johar’s production is unaffectedly heading to achieve more height.
Starring the newcomers Ishaan Khatter & Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, Dhadak wasn’t expected to perform like this at the box office. Very impressively it is scoring fair numbers in the second week as well despite having the new Hollywood biggie Mission: Impossible – Fallout in parallel.
Presented by Zee Studios, this romantic drama was released amid good buzz and opened on an excellent note. By remaining strong throughout, it did the business of 51.56 crores in the first week with 33.67 crores on the weekend and 17.89 crores on weekdays from 2235 screens nationwide.
Then in the second weekend as well, Dhadak managed to hold well and registered the business of 11.83 crores that included 2.61 crores of 2nd Friday, 4.02 crores of 2nd Saturday & 5.20 crores of 2nd Sunday.
Now it is running on weekdays once again and as usual getting lower footfalls than before. On 2nd Monday, its faced a drop of 40.23% than Friday and raked the business of 1.56 crores. With further decrements, the movie minted 1.50 crores on 2nd Tuesday & 1.39 crores on 2nd Wednesday.
With this, the total collection of Ishaan-Janhvi starrer after 13 days has become 67.84 crores nett (86.97 crores gross). From the international market as well, Dhadak has done very well and grossed 102.90 crores gross worldwide including 16 crores gross approx. from overseas.
