After a superb opening weekend, Shraddha Kapoor & Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree has completed a week on a strong note at the domestic box office and has already become hit. Despite having the new much-buzzed Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se in its parallel along with several existing offerings, this horror comedy remained unaffected throughout.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree has hit the target right despite being based on an unusual plot and received mostly positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience. In the opening weekend, it did the business of 32.27 crores with 6.83 crores on Friday, 10.87 crores on Saturday, and 14.57 crores on Sunday.
Then on weekdays as well, Dinesh Vijan’s production successfully managed to remain steady and minted the amount of 9.70 crores on Monday, 6.37 crores on Tuesday & 6.55 crores on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. Thursday, Stree collected 5.50 crores and raised 1 week total collection to 60.39 crores nett at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol starrer madcap comedy Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se has received mixed reviews from the critics as well as the audience. In the opening weekend, it registered the business of only 6.82 crores that included 1.82 crores on Friday, 1.98 crores on Saturday & 3.02 crores on Sunday.
On weekdays, with usual drops in footfalls, Navaniat Singh’s directorial bagged the amount of 1.50 crores on Monday, 1.25 crores on Tuesday, 1 crore on Wednesday & 0.80 crore on Thursday. After a week, the total collection of YPD Phir Se has become 11.37 crores nett.
