After a solid opening weekend, last Friday released Hollywood film The Nun has completed a week on an overall good note at the Indian box office. Despite mixed reviews from the critics, it got succeed to attract major crowd toward itself throughout in metro cities.
Being the latest installment of the most popular horror franchise Conjuring, The Nun had high initial buzz and as a result, opened on a superb note across India. In the opening weekend, it did the business of total 28.50 crores, that included 0.30 crore on Thursday with limited previews, 8 crores on Friday, 10.20 crores on Saturday & 10 crores on Sunday.
Then on weekdays, Corin Hardy’s directorial managed to remain steady and minted the amount of 3.45 crores on Monday, 2.80 crores on Tuesday & 2.45 crores on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. Thursday, it collected the amount of 2.50 crores and raised 1 week total collection to 39.70 crores nett from 1603 screens nationwide including all the versions.
On the other hand, JP Dutta’s Hindi war drama Paltan has got failed to divert enough audience toward itself. In the opening weekend, it did the business of 5 crores with 1.28 crores on Friday, 1.73 crores on Saturday & 2.23 crores on Sunday. Then on weekdays, it minted 0.62 crore on Monday, 0.53 crore on Tuesday, 0.40 crore on Wednesday & 0.40 crore on Thursday.
After a week, the total collection of Paltan has become 7.19 crores nett. While Imtiaz Ali’s production Laila Majnu remained poor throughout and registered the business of total 2.89 crores in a week that included 1.80 crores on the weekend (Fri 0.45cr, Sat 0.56cr, Sun 0.79cr) and 1.09 crore on weekdays (Mon 0.32cr, Tue 0.33cr, Wed 0.27cr, Thu 0.17cr).
