Kesari 8th Day Box Office Collection, Rakes Over 105.75 Crores in an Extended Week!

One of the highly-awaited Hindi movies of the year, Kesari had expectedly taken a fantastic start at the box office & registered a strong extended opening weekend. On weekdays, it recorded more than usual drop in footfalls due to IPL matches but still managed to remain good and passed a week at an overall excellent note.

Superstar Akshay Kumar’s first collaboration with actress Parineeti Chopra & director Anurag Singh, Kesari has got succeed to impress many in theatres with its impactful storyline. The movie has gathered very positive reactions from the critics as well as the audience and gained a solid word of mouth.

After registering the biggest opening of the year so far & second best for Akshay, the Hindi period war drama remained strong throughout the weekend and did the business of 78.07 crores which included 21.06 crores on Thursday, 16.75 crores on Friday, 18.75 crores on Saturday & 21.51 crores on Sunday from 3600 screens across India.

Then on weekdays, after a significant drop, Kesari managed to collect 8.25 crores on Monday, 7.17 crores on Tuesday & 6.52 crores on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. 2nd Thursday as it was released a day earlier, Zee Studios’ presentation minted the amount of 5.85 crores and raised 8 days total collection to 105.86 crores nett at the domestic box office.

With this, Karan Johar, Aruna Bhatia & Sunir Khetrapal’s production has become the highest first-week grosser of the year so far in Hindi cinema. In the next week, it will have two major Hindi releases Vidyut Jammwal starrer Junglee & Salman Khan’s production Notebook in the opposite.
