The first-ever collaboration between Bhushan Kumar led T-Series & Luv Ranjan’s Luv Films, De De Pyaar De had started its journey at a decent note and registered a lower weekend than Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year 2. But on weekdays, it maintained a solid pace and successfully surpassed the first-week collection of SOTY 2 (57.90 crores) at the domestic box office.
Superstar Ajay Devgn, Tabu & Rakul Preet Singh starrer was opened at an average note on Friday in the morning but recorded good growth post noon shows and did the business of 10.41 crores including 1.25 crore from the paid previews held on Thursday evening.
Over the weekend, De De Pyaar De showed a healthy jump in footfalls and bagged the amount of 13.39 crores on Saturday & 14.74 crores on Sunday. Then on weekdays, the film remained strong & steady across the country. On Monday, after a drop of 32.42% vis-a-vis Friday, it minted the amount of 6.19 crores.
By remaining stable at the box office, DDPD managed to collect the amount of 6.10 crores on Tuesday & 5.74 crores on Wednesday. On the next day i.e. Thursday, it raked the business of 4.48 crores and raised its one week total collection to 61.05 crores nett from 3100 screens nationwide.
The Hindi romantic comedy, De De Pyaar De has got succeed to impress many critics because of its entertaining storyline, convincing direction & wonderful performances by the leading actors. Due to a positive word of mouth, it is expected to perform well in its second week as well despite new releases India’s Most Wanted, PM Narendra Modi & Aladdin.
