Released with much positive reviews, Mukunda is latest Telugu film written and directed by Srikanth Addala, released on Wednesday 24th December 2014 starring Varun Tej and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles along with Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj, Nassar and Brahmanandam in supportive roles. Film has been much talked about and is a family, action + romance entertainer set in the background of Hyderabad. Ever since its release, film has set the cash registers of box office in south India ringing from the opening day till the end of its first weekend.

Fortunately, the film managed to do the expected kind of business over the weekend as the collections have seen a growth on Friday compared to its second day (Thursday) and then on Saturday. Days came up with good hope and luck for this movie but the occupancy of the audience didn’t increase on a notion that film didn’t released on Friday so after first 2 days, weekend has started. Mukunda has given a good performance till now and the fifth day seems to be best among the first 4 days.

On fifth day i.e. Sunday much of the audience drifted towards it contributing a good figure in the total collection of first 5 days. Facing not big competition with the previously released movies in south and apart from Lingaa which is running successfully still in south India, Mukunda has managed somehow to bring back its position. Fifth day box office business done by Mukunda is around 3.5 Crores* with total weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) collection of 8 Crores*.

We have seen the star cast especially the debut lead is entertaining the audience in positive way giving birth to a new rising star. Even after a competitive atmosphere film is coming out as a successful Tollywood release of this month and will end a good weekend income.
