Akshay Kumar & Huma Qureshi to share screen in Jolly LLB 2; Confirmed!

Jolly LLB 2 will go on floor from August 2016

Few months back, the director Subhash Kapoor and Fox Star Studios made an announcement about their collaboration with superstar Akshay Kumar for the sequel of 2013’s courtroom comedy drama Jolly LLB. The original didn’t received much good on box office but impressed the audience as well as critics and also won the National Award.

The prequel had Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, Amrita Rao and Saurabh Shukla in the lead roles. But this time makers want to hit the box office, that is why they have roped in Akshay Kumar for the main lead. Reportedly, he is playing the role of lawyer in the movie, the character which is loosely based on Kanpur-based lawyer Jagdish Mishra.

Akshay is very excited for his role in the movie, as he hasn’t played a lawyer before. He said “Jolly LLB 2 is a nice script and I quite liked it. I really liked the director’s (Subhash Kapoor) work and I have never played a lawyer’s role ever. It is something that I am going to enjoy.”

Opposite to Akshay, makers have signed Huma Qureshi in a female lead. This is the first time, when they both will be seen together in one frame. Also there are talks, that Paresh Rawal is playing the role which has been essayed by Boman Irani in the original. Still there is no official confirmation regarding the casting of Paresh Rawal, but deadly combination of Akshay & Paresh can add a good taste in the movie.

Reportedly, the shooting of Jolly LLB 2 will commence from August 2016 in Lucknow. There will be a 25 days schedule in Lucknow and then further shoot will take place in Varanasi and Kashmir. If everything goes with planning, then this one will be the first movie of Akshay in next year. The actor has three more movies to be released in 2017- Enthiran 2.0, Namastey England and the remake of Tamil movie Kaththi.
