Once again Bollywood star John Abraham is coming back with a film which has patriotism as it’s central theme. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, this period action drama is titled as Parmanu The Story of Pokhran. As it’s title suggests, the film is based on the series of underground nuclear tests carried out by India in 1988 at Indian Army’s test range.
Parmanu went on floor in May and still is in progress. On June 22, the actor took to twitter to share first look of the film. He wrote, “So happy to bring you the first look of my biggest test ever. #ParmanuFirstLook”. The picture features the faded image of John superimposed on a map of Rajasthan with Indian Nuclear Test Site Pokhran marked on it.
Opposite to John, Parmanu stars Diana Penty as a leading lady and Boman Irani in a crucial supporting role. Story of the film is written by Saiwyn Quadros, Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh and John Abraham himself, who is also the co-producer. Music of this offering is scored by Sachin-Jigar.
John had said earlier in a statement, “The road to Pokhran has been paved. It’s time to embark on a journey to revisit the mission that changed the place of India on the world map and turning the course of modern India’s position in the world as a strong nuclear state,”.
Produced by KriArj Entertainment, Zee Studios and Kyta Productions in association with John’s JA Entertainment, Parmanu The Story of Pokhran is scheduled to be released on 8th December 2017. The much awaited sequel of highly entertaining comedy drama 2013’s Fukrey, Fukrey Returns is also being released on the same day.
