After a slow start, Amitabh Bachchan & Rishi Kapoor starrer 102 Not Out picked up very well due to positive word of mouth and passed the opening weekend on a good note. Despite the last week released Hollywood biggie Avengers Infinity War and ongoing IPL matches, this slice-of-life comedy-drama successfully gathered the audience.
Directed by Umesh Shukla, 102 Not Out has received very positive reviews from the critics as well as the audience for its heartfelt story-line and delightful performances by the leading actors. This is the reason, it witnessed a healthy jump in footfalls from the second day.
In the opening weekend, Sony Pictures’ presentation did the business of 16.65 crores, that included 3.52 crores of Friday, 5.53 crores of Saturday and 7.60 crores of Sunday. Now it has entered on weekdays and collected the amount of 3.02 crores on Monday to raise its 4 days total collection to 19.67 crores.
While the second Hindi offering of this week, Hansal Mehta’s crime drama Omerta has remained low throughout despite positive reviews and did the business of 2.63 crores in the opening weekend with 0.54 crore on Friday, 1.09 crore on Saturday and 1 crore on Sunday. On Monday, it collected 0.30 crore and raised 4 days total to 2.93 crores.
On the other hand, superstar Allu Arjun and the stunning Anu Emmanuel starrer the much-awaited Telugu offering Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India has received an excellent opening but completed the weekend on an overall good note. It collected the shares of 27.40 crores from the Telugu states in first 3-days, that included 16.25 crores of Friday, 5.25 crores of Saturday and 5.90 crores of Sunday.
Now NSNI has entered on weekdays and with a usual drop in footfalls due to normal working days, it bagged the amount of 3 crores as distributors’ shares on Monday. With this, its 4 days total collection has become 30.40 crores shares (44.25 crores gross) across Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.
