10th Day Collection of Padmaavat (Padmavati), Surpasses Bajirao Mastani & YJHD

Within 10 days of release, the magnum opus of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat has surpassed the lifetime total of his last big hit Bajirao Mastani. Due to high star power and numerous controversies, the film gained huge pre-release hype and as a result of that showing superb performance at the box office across the globe.

After Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat is the third collaboration of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Alongside them, this epic period drama features Shahid Kapoor as well in the lead role and as always all three have given outstanding performances.

Despite challenging conditions, the film opened to an excellent note and also remained super strong throughout the opening weekend. In its 4-days extended first weekend, it did the business of 114 crores that included 5 crores of Wednesday (Paid Previews), 19 crores of Thursday, 32 crores of Friday (Republic Day), 27 crores of Saturday and 31 crores of Sunday.

Then in weekdays, despite normal working days Viacom18 Motion Pictures’ this presentation remained rock-steady and bagged the amount of 15 crores on Monday, 14 crores on Tuesday, 12.50 crores on Wednesday and 11 crores on Thursday. After the 8-days extended opening week, the total collection of Padmaavat was 166.50 crores.

Now once again Deepika-Shahid-Ranveer starrer is enjoying the weekend and adding healthy numbers to its account. On 2nd Friday, it minted the amount of 10 crores with a drop of 10% than the previous day. Then on the next day i.e. 2nd Saturday, with fair jump Padmaavat collected the amount of 16 crores and raised its 10-days domestic total to 192.50 crores.

Padmaavat that was earlier known as Padmavati has now emerged as the 16th highest grossing film of all time in Hindi cinema by surpassing the lifetime total of Baijrao Mastani (184.20 crores) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (188.57 crores).
