The hit machine of Bollywood, superstar Akshay Kumar’s latest offering Toilet Ek Prem Katha has emerged as his fifth consecutive hit in last 19 months span and still continuing it’s winning strike at box office. Within just 12 days of release, the movie has surpassed the lifetime total of Salman Khan’s Tubelight.
Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer this satirical romantic drama has impressed everyone with it’s solid content and brilliant performances by all the actors. From most of the critics as well as critics, the movie has received very positive reviews and gained strong word of mouth.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet Ek Prem Katha witnessed excellent response in the opening weekend and remained strong in weekdays as well. It did the business of total 96.05 crores in the first week, that included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays.
In the second weekend, once again TEPK took good jump despite several new offerings and garnered the business of 19 crores with 4 crores of Friday, 6.75 crores of Saturday and 8.25 crores of Sunday. After 10 days of release, total collection of the movie was recorded as 115.05 crores.
Now Akshay-Bhumi starrer is running in weekdays and asusual getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before. On 2nd Monday, it faced 35% of drop than Friday and added 2.60 crores to it’s account. Then on the next day i.e. 2nd Tuesday, Toilet Ek Prem Katha raked 2.50 crores and raised it’s 12 days total to 120.15 crores at domestic box office.
