Last week released the much awaited sequel to 2013’s Fukrey, Fukrey Returns is not showing any sign of slowdown. From the very first day of release, it is getting excellent response at box office and has dominated many films that were released earlier this year and had higher star power than it.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, Fukrey Returns has impressed everyone like it’s prequel and received positive remarks from most of the critics. Due to positive word of mouth, it is showing rock-steady performance at box office across the country.
Due to good recall value, this comedy drama opened to a solid note and took remarkable jump over the weekend. By remaining strong throughout the weekdays, the movie registered the business of 50.55 crores in the first week that included 32.20 crores of weekend and 18.35 crores from 1500 screens in India.
Then in the second weekend as well, Fukrey Returns got succeed to manage steady pace and did the business of 15.56 crores, that included 3.31 crores of Friday, 5.15 crores of Saturday and 7.10 crores of Sunday. After 10 days of release, total collection of the movie was recorded as 66.11 crores.
Once again the movie is running in weekdays and asusual getting lesser footfalls in theaters than before but still has good hold over the audience. With approx. 32% of drop than Friday, it minted the amount of 2.25 crores on 2nd Monday, while 2.10 crores on 2nd Tuesday.
On the next day i.e. 2nd Wednesday, Fukrey Returns witnessed further drop and bagged the amount of 1.75 crore. With this, total collection of Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s directorial has become 72.21 crores at domestic box office.
