Superstar Akshay Kumar’s latest offering Toilet Ek Prem Katha has completed half-a-month journey at box office on an excellent note. After two weeks of release, the movie has good-enough hold over the audience across the country and heading unaffectedly despite new releases.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, TEPK starring Bhumi Pednekar as a leading lady alongside Akshay and both the actors are being praised by everyone for their brilliant performances. With it’s solid content, the movie has received positive reviews from most of the critics and impressing all the viewers.
In the opening week, this satirical romantic drama was recorded amazing response from audience and remained strong throughout. It did the business of total 96.05 crores in the first week, that included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays from 3000 screens nationwide.
Then in the second week as well, Toilet Ek Prem Katha reported good performance at box office despite having several new offerings in opposite. The movie raked the business of 28.35 crores with 19 crores in weekend and 9.35 crores in weekdays.
After two weeks of release, total collection of TEPK was recorded as 124.40 crores. Now it has entered in the third week and still seems to add good amount to it’s account. On 2nd Friday, the movie witnessed 50% of drop in footfalls than previous day due to new releases, beginning of Ganesh Chaturthi and chaos raised in Punjab, Haryana & nearby states.
On 15th day, Toilet Ek Prem Katha garnered the business of 1 crore and raised it’s domestic total to 125.40 crores. The movie is positively expected to become Akshay Kumar’s second highest grosser of all time by this weekend after surpassing Rustom (127.49 crores) and Airlift (128.10 crores).
