Superstar Akshay Kumar’s latest offering Toilet Ek Prem Katha is still showing good enough performance at box office in third week and emerged as his second highest grosser of all time by dominating the lifetime total of Rustom and Airlift within 17 days of release at domestic box office.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, this satirical romantic drama TEPK has received very positive reviews from most of the critics and impressed all the audience with it’s solid content and brilliant performances given by the entire cast. Due to positive reactions, it gained strong word of mouth and heading unaffectedly despite new offerings.
In the opening week, Toilet Ek Prem Katha showed excellent performance with impressive growth over the weekend and did the business of total 96.05 crores. That included 51.45 crores of weekend and 44.60 crores of weekdays from around 3000 screens nationwide.
Then in the second week, the movie remained good despite having several new offerings in opposite and raked the business of 28.35 crores with 19 crores of weekend and 9.35 crores of weekdays. After two weeks, total collection of TEPK was recorded as 124.40 crores.
Now Akshay-Bhumi starrer is running in it’s third week and once again showed growth in the weekend. On 3rd Friday, it faced 50% of drop than previous day and minted 1 crore. On Saturday being weekend, it took decent jump and raked the business of 1.50 crore.
On the next day i.e. Sunday being public holiday, the movie reported more growth and garnered the business of 2 crores. With this, total 17 days collection of Toilet Ek Prem Katha has become 128.90 crores, which is higher than the lifetime total of Rustom (127.49 crores) and Airlift (128.10 crores).
