1st Day Box Office Collection of Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Manto across India

Almost after 4 years, the leading pair of film Haider, Shahid Kapoor & Shraddha Kapoor are back together in a newly released social drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Directed by Toilet Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh, it also stars Yami Gautam & Divyendu Sharma in pivotal roles.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar under the banner T-Series, Batti Gul Meter Chalu has received mixed reviews from the critics on the first day but got succeed to entertain the audience. Although the film has registered a decent opening at the box office despite a partial holiday of Muharram.

On Friday, Panorama Studios’ presentation took a slow start with around 10-20% of occupancy in the morning. Over the evening & night shows, it witnessed a decent growth in multiplexes and minted the amount of 6.76 crores nett at the domestic box office. Due to favorable feedback from the public, BGMC is expected to take a good jump over the weekend.

On the other hand, Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Rashika Duggal starrer biopic drama Manto has also been released after impressing many at Cannes Film Festival. Directed by Nandita Das, as expected the film has received mostly positive reviews from the critics but recorded low footfalls in theaters.

On the opening day, Manto started its journey on a poor note and remained overall dull throughout the day as Batti Gul Meter Chalu is diverting major audience toward itself. As per reports, HP Studios’ production has collected only 0.45 crore on Friday, but expected to grow well over the weekend.
