1st Day Collection: Azhar Takes Good Start on Domestic Box Office

‘Azhar’ Started on a Good Note across India

The new release from Bollywood this week, Azhar has started on a good note at box office. The movie has not received much positive reviews from critics but due to its initial buzz it has taken a fair start across India. From audience it is getting almost favorable response, everyone is praising the performance of Emraan Hashmi in the title role. As per critics, the performance of Emraan is the major attraction in Azhar. The movie has got failure to acquire the desired place in the hearts of audience but at box office it is witnessing overall good response.

In UAE-GCC, Tony D’souza’s directorial raked the commendable business of AED 0.4 million i.e. 72.72 lacs on the opening day, which is the highest ever opening of Emraan Hashmi’s career so far from there. In India, it started the day with 25% of occupancy and witnessed decent growth from evening shows, especially in multiplexes. Overall it reported the occupancy of almost 30% across the nation on Friday.

With such fair occupancy, Azhar has minted the amount of 6.30 cr at domestic box office. The opening business is decent enough as per the expectations. This awaited sports biopic, has successfully break the spell of previous movies on Indian box office. The adjacent releases Dear Dad, Buddha in a Traffic Jam & etc. have not affected its performance.

Being second Saturday of the month, the day-2 is positively expected to result in higher collection and the same kind of response is expected on Sunday. If everything goes in favor, then Azhar will definitely recover all its cost within a week, for which producers were worried from beginning.
