The new Hindi releases of this week- Helicopter Eela, Tumbbad, FryDay & Jalebi have opened on a poor note. Among these four, only the fantasy horror Tumbbad has received positive reviews from critics as well as the audience, while rest three has got mixed reactions.
Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, Kajol & Riddhi Sen starrer drama movie Helicopter Eela took a disastrous start on Friday despite having a good star power. With an occupancy of overall 5% across the country, it has registered the opening of 0.75 crore.
While the Aanand L Rai’s production Tumbbad has got succeed to impress many in theaters with its gripping story-line and gained a positive word of mouth. But still, it witnessed a poor response on the opening day and minted the amount of 0.65 crore from Hindi, Tamil & Telugu versions.
In parallel, the another Hindi offering comedy-drama FryDay starring Govinda & Varun Sharma has received mixed reviews. Despite being a much-anticipated release of this week, it opened poorly and managed to collect 0.30 crore only.
The last one, Mahesh Bhatt’s romantic drama Jalebi starring Rhea Chakraborty & Varun Mitra is the remake of Bengali film Praktan. This one also received mixed reviews and registered the business of only 0.50 crore on Friday.
As per the current trend, there are no healthy hopes from these offerings except Tumbbad. Rahi Anil Barve, Anand Gandhi & Adesh Prasad’s directorial is expected to take a fair jump over the weekend.
