Alongside Mubarakan, two another Hindi offerings have been released at box office this Friday, history dramas Indu Sarkar and Raag Desh. Both the films are getting positive reviews from most of the critics as well as viewers, but got failed to attract much audience toward themselves on the opening day.
Madhur Bhandarkar’s directorial Indu Sarkar is set against the backdrop of Emergency period in India during 1975-1977. Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher and Tota Roy Chowdhury starrer this film received huge acclaim after the release of it’s trailer.
Because of it’s hard-hitting content, Indu Sarkar is getting favorable reviews from most of the critics, while some have found it skip-able. Due to having biggie like Mubarakan the film has not received much response at box office and raked the business of 0.85 crore with 10-15% of occupancy on 825 screens in India.
Although like last week’s Lipstick Under My Burkha, Indu Sarkar is also expected to pick up from Saturday and prove it’s potential in weekdays as well. But adjacent release Mubarakan is also getting positive reviews from critics as well as audience, which could spoil the game.
On the other hand, director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raag Desh is based on the joint court martial of three Indian National Army officers Colonel Prem Sehgal, Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, Major Shah Nawaz Khan. Same as Indu Sarkar, this one too getting positive reviews but witnessed limited footfalls on the opening day.
With 5-10% of occupancy on around 400 screens, Raag Desh registered the opening business of only 0.14 crore at domestic box office. Slight growth is expected for the movie on Saturday and Sunday.
